Welcome, David Davis, New Lincoln Elementary Principal

Dear Lincoln School Community -

It is with great pleasure that I announce David Davis as the next principal of Lincoln Elementary! Mr. Davis currently serves as principal of Kingsley in District 65, where he has led the school community since 2019. He will officially join the Lincoln community as of July 1.

We are grateful for the staff and families who gave their feedback as part of our community survey and for those who served on the interview panel. Throughout the process, we heard the importance of selecting a leader who values strong communication and organization, puts students at the center of decision-making, and fosters a school environment where every student feels a sense of belonging and acceptance.

Mr. Davis brings extensive educational and leadership experience to Lincoln. Prior to serving as Kingsley principal, he was an assistant principal in River Forest District 90 and previously served as a District Technology Facilitator and teacher on principal assignment in Winnetka District 36, where he focused on technology integration, assessment systems, and school improvement planning. Earlier in his career, he was a teacher here in D65.

He earned degrees in Music Performance from Oberlin Conservatory of Music and Roosevelt University before completing master’s degrees in Elementary Education, Educational Technology, and Principal Preparation and Administration from Concordia University Chicago.

What stood out throughout the process was Mr. Davis’ belief that every student deserves to feel fully known, supported, and valued every day at school. He recognizes the importance of having high expectations and fostering a sense of belonging for all students. To do this, he believes in working collaboratively with educators to improve instructional systems.

Knowing Mr. Davis and his leadership style well, I know he will approach this transition as a listener first, learning from Lincoln students, families, and staff and building alongside the community. Mr. Davis’ calm presence, authenticity, and deep care for students and educators were evident throughout this process, and I am excited for the Lincoln community to get to know him. Outside of school, he enjoys biking, cooking, composing music, attending concerts with his family, and exploring restaurants around Chicago.

Our team looks forward to supporting Mr. Davis, the staff, and the Lincoln community in ensuring a strong and joyful start to the upcoming school year. Please stay tuned for a welcome message from Mr. Davis and opportunities to connect with him this summer.
